Cabinets To Go is seeking an Assistant General Counsel for an on-site position in Franklin, TN. Compensation will be base salary, plus potential for bonus.

The Assistant General Counsel will be providing legal support for the F9 Brands, Inc. companies (Cabinets To Go, Southwind Building Products, Gracious Home) and their subsidiaries and affiliates on a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to contract drafting and negotiation, employment matters, litigation, and compliance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides legal advice and assistance to management pertaining to specialized area(s) of practice and/or Company’s business activities.
  • Directs and engages in long range planning for the operations and activities of the legal practice area(s) over which the associate has responsibility.
  • Advises the Chief Legal Officer and other members of the Company’s senior management regarding current and evolving issues in legal practice area(s)
  • Works closely with managers of business area(s) that are supported by the legal practice area(s) to understand and, within the bounds of law and ethics, to support the Company’s goals and objectives.
  • Identifies legal risks associated with legal practice area(s) and the business areas that such legal practice(s) support and develops controls and training to detect and mitigate such risks.
  • As needed, performs or provides leadership and direction of legal projects and litigation, including the preparation of legal research, memoranda, documentation and the delivery of advice.
  • Consults with, and/or obtains guidance from, senior management, including the General Counsel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Current member in good standing of a state bar and ability to become licensed in Tennessee
  • 4+ years of relevant legal experience
  • Work experience in an in-house counsel position (preferably in a retail environment)
  • Work experience should include contracts and commercial matters, drafting/negotiating contracts, contract compliance activities, consumer facing transactions, and inhouse transactions
  • Experience in real estate, marketing, and/or employment law is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with confidence to communicate with business leaders and all level of employees
  • Practical and proactive problem solver with a positive attitude

Pay: $80,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
