Job Summary:

Ensures that the Mechanical and Production Systems as well as the facility are properly maintained to further the company’s business interests and goals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

• Performs duties of Maintenance Manager in his or her absence.
• Oversees the work carried out by the Maintenance Technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assures that all maintenance staff adheres to the safety procedures and rules that are in place.
• Assures the proper operation in the maintenance department and works on improvement of the Preventive Maintenance Program in conjunction with the Maintenance Planner.
• Oversees parts ordering and maintaining adequate stock of spare parts.
• Oversees maintenance personnel scheduling and production preparation.
• Oversees and assists as necessary in the training and development of the plant maintenance staff
• Assures that maintenance personnel follow GMP’s, Food Safety Practices and cleanliness of the maintenance shop.
• Cooperates with Technical Manager, Director of Operations, Corporate Personnel and any additional outside assistance necessary in maintaining existing processes, buildings or equipment. This will include supervision of outside contractors and/or consultants as needed.
• Takes ownership of process improvement needs such as product and material loss prevention, safety and general equipment upgrades.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Confers with production manager and/or production supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving problems
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Preventive Maintenance Program; Food Processing; Interpretation of Blue Prints and Schematics of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; Knowledge of Mechanical Machine Parts; Material Identification; Knowledge of Electrical Circuits including single phase, 3phase, AC-DC controls and basic knowledge in Siemens PLC troubleshooting; Knowledge of industrial Refrigeration and HVAC; Intermediate computer skills .

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
