Position Overview: The Lane College Physical Education Department seeks an Assistant Professor of Physical Education. This is a nine-month faculty position with a maximum teaching load of 15 credit hours. Teaching responsibilities include core and elective classes as well as activity courses.

• Participating in departmental, divisional, and institutional activities.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science or the equivalent preferred; a Master’s Degree in the same area as listed above required along with evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience.
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification and Water Safety Instructor Certification are definite advantages for considerations.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in hands-on teaching and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Blackboard, hybrid/online courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content.
• Requires some walking and ability to climb stairs, possibly sitting long periods of time, ability to lift up to 10lbs. 1% of the times and minimum travel. Some nights and weekends may be needed.
