Position Summary:

The Assistant Superintendent provides onsite supervision and works under the direction of the superintendent. Monitor daily activities on the job site with special attention to safety. Compile reports on progress and compliance with the construction documents. Inspect completed structures for safety, compliance, and confirm conformance with plans and specifications. Communicate with subcontractors and field staff to ensure adherence to schedules, plans, and specifications. The Assistant Superintendent position is seen as a training position for those wishing to pursue a career as a superintendent.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Project Managers, Property Management, and Tenants to assure the field is coordinated with the construction plan as developed by the project team and that schedule, cost and quality expectations are met.
• Assists with coordinating onsite safety.
• Assists Superintendent with coordinating all construction services and activities with subcontractors and vendors.
• Review and monitors pay applications with Superintendent and Project Managers.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent technical skills, proficient in reading, understanding, and applying blueprints and job specifications as well as safety knowledge and skills
• Excellent computer and technology skills with experience using MS Projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• 0-2 years of experience required

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting/standing at construction sites.
