Assistant Teacher/Aide:

The responsibilities of the Assistant Teacher/Aide include the following:

• Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the guidance of the Head Teacher.
• Assist in supervision and insuring the safety and well-being of classroom children at all times, being alert to the needs and/or concerns of the children as individuals and as a group.
• Report to the teacher or Center Director any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect
• Report to the teacher or Center Director any special needs or concerns of individual child or parent
• Assist the classroom teachers as directed, including, but not limited to the following:
• Planning curriculum in detail for assigned classroom
• Implementing the daily program for assigned classroom
• Decorating classroom bulletin boards, pictures, children’s artwork and other items
• Help to maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment

Minimum Job Requirements

• At least six months of experience or prior training in Early Childhood Education.
• Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Must be sensitive to individual children’s differences and needs, and be willing to adjust the program & curriculum to meet those individual needs.
• Must be motivated to learn and grow in an educational environment; and be willing to continually increase knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education.
• Must be able to relate with and speak to parents in a respectful and courteous manner.
• Must be willing to work in a team environment; be willing to share ideas & be open to other’s ideas; be flexible & willing to compromise.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.50 - $19.06 per hour

Experience:

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
• Early childhood education: 1 year (Preferred)
• Experience with children: 1 year (Preferred)
• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
