About This Role:
K-State's Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within the university's Enrollment Management (EM) division, seeks dynamic individuals to apply for the position of Associate Director for Scholarships. This inaugural position will oversee the office's scholarship unit, exercise leadership in collaboration with scholarship partners across the university's colleges/administrative units, and actively contribute to the execution and development of the university's strategic enrollment objectives. The position reports directly to the director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance and oversees three full time, dedicated scholarship professionals.

The successful candidate will exhibit robust familiarity in utilizing data analysis in evaluating the efficacy of current scholarship practices, projecting scholarship expenditures, and modeling enrollment outcomes premised on historical data in combination with targeted objectives.

In this leadership role, the position engages institutional scholarship partners such as colleges, academic units, and the K-State Foundation in formulating and executing the timely awarding and delivery of scholarships to facilitate early enrollment decisions as well as to provide financial predictability for continuing students. The successful candidate will form robust working relationships with all units within EM such as the university's offices of recruitment & admissions, marketing & communications, registrars, student life etc.. The position will direct and actively participate in outreach/training efforts across university sectors as well as part of the university's recruitment events.

Within the Office of Student Financial Assistance, the successful candidate will oversee and set processing objectives within the scholarship unit. They will review existing business practices in an ongoing manner with an eye toward extracting processing efficiencies and streamlining the customer service experience of prospective and continuing students. To this end, the individual will bring to bear a robust understanding of how to leverage system functionalities associated among Customer Relations Management (CRM), Student Information Systems, Scholarship Management Systems, etc.. Similarly, the individual will maintain and update the office's, scholarship policies and procedures.

What You'll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Five or more years of relevant experience
Previous supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Six or more years, full time employment within an Office of Student Financial Assistance with progressive responsibilities and oversight of one or more major financial aid programs.
Past, full-time work administering institutional scholarships - including central, endowment, and athletic
Robust knowledge of Oracle Corp. Campus Solutions including writing/executing PS Query Tool
Working knowledge of Blackbaud's Award Manager (formerly Academic Works)
Working knowledge of Campus Logic's suite of student aid modules such as Notifications, Forms, and Net Price Calculator
Proven track record in working with institutional IT units in developing and testing system enhancements
Master's Degree
