Position Summary:
85SIXTY is looking for an experienced hands-on Associate Director of Paid Social to lead our paid social practice. Hands-on experience creating and managing campaigns in Facebook as well as other social media platforms is required. You will be part of an integrated media planning and buying team that works across all digital media tactics. This role will be a combination of team leadership and mentoring, social media execution, and shaping client strategy. In this role, you will also be a key member of the integrated media planning and strategy team which includes both biddable and other forms of media. You will build, mentor and lead the paid social team in the agency with a goal of maintaining our focus on delivering best of breed media strategy and performance.

This person will have responsibility working with clients to define objectives and KPI’s as well as devising methods for accurately measuring performance against those KPI’s. 85SIXTY has a highly collaborative approach and as such, your digital media expertise will be combined with the knowledge of other team members to create an integrated client strategy rooted in performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience mentoring junior buyers and will be comfortable organizing the buying process for a growing team. You should be highly confident when working with clients.

We are currently working remotely. We do have offices in San Diego and Denver. We expect to support flexible working schedules and locations as we go forward.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of media buyers focused on paid social.
  • Mentor team members and create opportunities for team growth.
  • Be the platform expert and train the team on platform traits, strengths and how to use those to benefit performance across the funnel.
  • Lead the process improvement, including, not limited to testing opportunities, measurement studies, audience opportunities, audits, QA and such.
  • Aid in the creation of client media objectives and strategies including the creation of strategic plans and the presentation of those plans directly to clients.
  • Perform research to determine best media tactics to achieve client objectives.
  • Develop strong and effective media performance based on established paid social strategies, as well as custom research and test-and-learn processes.
  • Develop audience-centric media strategies based on research about target audience. Research vehicles can include 3rd party tools, CDP's, DMP's, CRM's, and other analytics and web platforms.
  • Analyze real-time results and optimize buys to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with our internal analytics practice to develop new tools in the interest of optimizing media and predicting client outcomes.
  • Work with creative and content teams to ensure optimal ad development and harmony between media and creative. This includes close collaboration with our organic social team.
  • Deliver campaign performance projections and analysis with eye towards future implications.
  • Communicate directly with clients on performance, optimization and projects
  • Collaborate with team members in creating full-funnel integrated marketing campaigns across all channels.
  • Monitor emerging industry trends in digital marketing – specifically paid social. Meet with potential media and technology vendors.
  • Be a primary point of contact for Facebook and other paid social vendors.
  • Manage budgets, pacing, and reconciling of digital campaigns.
  • Act as the paid social for the agency, ensuring the agency is continuously testing new offerings and staying ahead of the curve on optimization and implementation practices.

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience as a paid social media buyer.
  • Experience buying social media ads on platforms like Facebook, IG, TikTok, Pinterest, Twitter, Linkedin, & others against conversion goals with 6-figure monthly budgets.
  • Willingness to explore new world opportunities like gaming and metaverse through paid social.
  • Demonstrated experience using paid social as part of integrated campaigns that include both paid, earned and owned media.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute performance driven digital media campaigns.
  • Knowledge of the general activation capabilities of all available digital media tactics including the strengths and weaknesses of each
  • Experience managing other paid media buyers and fostering a team.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Self-directed, proactive, and capable of creating solutions and resolving issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fun environment.
  • Certification in Google Analytics is a plus.

CO Applicants:
Salary range: $98,000 - $110,000
