IAA is seeking an Associate Product Manager for our corporate headquarters in Westchester, IL.

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for helping to define and shape IAA's product vision, strategy and roadmap. This role will engage throughout the organization, customer base, and marketplace to understand customer and business problems and opportunities. The ideal candidate will analyze and synthesize insights and observations from discovery into a focused path that aligns with IAA's strategic goals and directions.

This role is responsible for communicating and championing product initiatives throughout the organization. They will understand the product vision and execute to that vision daily.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to the following):

  • Understand IAA's business and customers.
  • Research and understand the marketplace in which IAA competes.
  • Collaborate with a broad group of customers, internal and partner stakeholders to discover needs and opportunities.
  • Valuate new products and services to understand ROI and analyze customer fit.
  • Evaluate requests and communicate results to all applicable parties.
  • Write comprehensive business requirements for Stakeholder view as well as hand off to the Technology organization.
  • Proactively identify interdependencies – and balance creating innovative products for our operators with scalable products for our branches
  • Demonstrate success prioritizing and allocating resources for maximum impact.
  • Ensure alignment of product roadmap with IAA's strategic goals.
  • Use data and customer feedback to make valuable decisions.
  • Support in creating Vision documents and assist with daily execution of the Product lifecycle.
  • Drive rapid feedback cycles to validate hypotheses and assumptions.
  • Create clear and comprehensive business requirements and acceptance criteria to provide to business technology for development.
  • Support eliminating blockers, resolving questions regarding business requirements.
  • Contribute to Product and Portfolio processes to improve efficiency and value for the organization.
  • Play supporting role in sustaining client growth, diversification and profitability.
  • Ensure that all necessary parties are well-informed of status for applicable product initiatives.
  • Responsible for supporting the entire product initiative journey from product discovery through launch which includes but is not limited to business case collaboration, discovery, POC/Design, demos, user feedback, grooming, partner to technology, marketing and stakeholders.

  • 1+ years of product experience (product management, product strategy, product marketing, consulting)
  • Strong problem-solving skills - both individually and collaboratively within a group setting
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Works well with ambiguity - ability to interpret large quantities of information, deliver data driven solutions and when necessary, make decisions with incomplete information.
  • Beginner Experience developing and executing a product roadmap.
  • Comfortable making critical decisions - what to do and what not to do.
  • Escalates to manager when needed with relevant information and proposed solution.
  • Experience shifting priorities, while maintaining organization and control
  • Influential and effective leadership skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience defining and optimizing a customer's journey/experience.
  • High-level understanding of technology concepts; ability to work cross-functionally with technology teams.
  • Excellent people skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties. Team player!
  • Flexible and open-minded; proactively seeks input from others.
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills.
  • Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.


Preferred Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge/experience of the following industries is also preferred: salvage and/or wholesale vehicle auction/equipment operations, vehicle remarketing services, or eCommerce.
  • Experience with Aha! product management software
