The Assistant Project Manager provides support to CNM’s field and site operations, ensuring CNM is producing high quality projects for its clients in an efficient and organized manner. This position is responsible for meeting CNM’s site management and customer service obligations, with a focus on overall quality control for assigned projects.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager

Note: The expectations for this position include dedicating 15 hours per week to house management efforts, 20 hours per week to assisting with active or potential projects as directed, and 5 hours per week on general filing, photograph cataloging, file maintenance.

● Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions as assigned.

● Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite for assigned projects.

● Assist with client onboarding into ERP (Buildertrend).

● Assists Project Manager in coordination of site construction activities.

● Meet subcontractors on job site as directed.

● Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors as assigned to ensure timely completion.

● On assigned projects, ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.

● Walk site for assigned active projects on a daily or as needed basis to monitor activities and assist in planning the next activity.

● Manage general customer service and client relations.

● Respond promptly to customer needs.

● Solicit customer feedback to improve service.

● Respond to requests for service and assistance.

● Maintain routine document uploading to the ERP (Buildertrend).

● Coordinate with property owners regarding scheduling, contractor installations and inspections as assigned.

● Support CNM’s contractor vetting process and performance monitoring.

● Assisting in drafting requests for proposals, client proposals and client invoices.

● For projects assigned, accurately enter job cost into the ERP system as reflected in the estimate and upload invoice to ERP. Notify Business Operations Manager expenses are approved for payment by sending invoices to the AP email.

● Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of the Assistant Project Manager

● Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

● 3+ years of customer service experience

● Previous experience in construction industry preferred

● Ability to lift 80 pounds without assistance

● Excellent communication skills

● Leadership skills

● Organizational management skills

● Excellent writing skills

● Diligent and detail-oriented

● Experience using Buildertrend a preferred but not required

● Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

-Previous landscape construction experience or general contracting experience is required.

-Must be comfortable working on jobs along Lake Michigan's shoreline.

-Must be able to adapt quickly as we work in a fast-paced industry where conditions are ever changing.

-A degree in environmental studies, geology, construction workeragement or business is preferred.

-Experience as a home inspector is a plus.

-The job would consist of partial office time and partial on-site time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
