The Position:
Applications are now being accepted for the Athletic Equipment Attendant to support men's intercollegiate teams and exercise science classes at San Diego Miramar College. Hours comprise of a 40-hour work week with day and evening shifts to include some weekends. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust workday shift hours based on the departments' needs.
Under the direction of an assigned manager or supervisor, candidate must have the knowledge, ability, and experience to perform a variety of responsibilities to support both the athletics intercollegiate program and Exercise Science/ Health classes and perform related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate should have:
- Experience with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, repairing and inventory of exercise equipment, clothing, and supplies.
- Knowledge and experience in efficient cleaning methods, and operation of various equipment such as a van, cart, washing machine, dryer, vacuum cleaner, and computer.
- Knowledge and experience for setting up various athletics-related contests and equipment for sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, and water polo.
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to include tactfulness, patience and diplomacy with multiple constituents on campus and outside vendors and suppliers.
- Ability to train and provide direction for student workers, maintain records, organize well, and adhere to deadlines.
- Willingness to participate in a variety of department, co-curricular and campus activities.
- Knowledge of the requirements outlined in the National Operating Committee on Standards of Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) and other pertinent rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

Pay Information:
Range 13 ($3,871.30- $5,083.86) per month based on the current Classified salary schedule. New employees will begin on Step E ($3,871.30). Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. This position is FLSA Non-exempt (may accrue overtime). Excellent Benefits are provided to all Contract employees with assignments greater than, or equal to, 50% (0.50 FTE) and all eligible dependents. A temporary probationary period will apply to the employee entering this assignment.
