Available Positions:

Hoover Energy Services has openings for Automation Technicians and Sr. Automation Technicians but are looking for a Lead to help expand our efforts in the fast paced, and growing oil and gas market in the Permian Basin of West Texas and New Mexico. The candidate will be responsible for discussing current and future projects with customers, identifying the customers’ needs, and implementing solutions to satisfy the customer’s requirements. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, organized, reliable, demonstrate a desire to learn, and be capable of adapting quickly across job functions and responsibilities. Projects include measurement, automation, and communications installations. This position will also be responsible for commissioning, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and programming. Most of these projects will involve working on oil and natural gas production, processing, and transportation systems. We are looking for candidates that take an obsessive amount of pride in their work and want to grow and advance within our business.

Ideal candidate would have experience in the following:

· Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and commissioning of instrumentation and automation systems used in the oil and gas industry. (Upstream and Mid-Stream)

· Knowledge of EFMs, and communications equipment (ABB TotalFlow, ROC 800, ROC 107, Freewave, Xetawave, MDS radios, and Airlink Modems)

· HMI development and programming (Red Lion, IDEC, Beijer, Maple Systems, and Panel View)

· PLC Programming (Idec, Allen Bradley, Siemens)

· Knowledge of SCADA and remote communications.

· Knowledge of Modbus communication protocols.

· Knowledge of instrumentation, electronic, and measurement systems (transmitters, sensors, operator interfaces, variable frequency drives, pumps, LACT units, motors, motor controls, orifice meters, coriolis meters, turbine meters, mag meters, switches, relays, solar panels, and power supplies)

· Knowledge of API and AGA measurement standards.

· Understanding of measurement principles and how measurement devices work.

· Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems and how to properly wire devices to make them work correctly.

· Ability to work in a team environment or alone with minimal supervision.

· Be able to communicate verbally and in writing to other team members, as well as customers.

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Be able to pass a physical and drug screen including random drug screening.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience as an Automation, Instrumentation, or Process Controls Technician, or Automation Engineer. A 2-year associates degree in Industrial Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or Process Controls is preferred.

Training:

Hoover Energy Services provides ongoing hands-on equipment training, classroom training, and professional development plans.

Pay: $1.00 - $45.00 per hour
