Job Description:

The Automotive Mechanic performs a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles. The Mechanic places and maintains decals on vehicles; checks and replaces batteries; rotates, repairs, and replaces tires; washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles; drains, flushes, and replaces engines, transmissions, and differential greases and oils; checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs; cleans and replaces oil and air filters. The Automotive Mechanic adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replaces thermostats, points, electrical wiring, and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.

Requirements:

The successful candidate shall have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) mechanic at an automotive dealership, commercial automotive mechanic, or have equivalent military experience. The Automotive Mechanic shall possess a valid state driver’s license from their state of residency to operate motor vehicles. The successful candidate must possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) to conduct operation and testing of vehicles more than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). The Automotive Mechanic must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Secret Security Clearance.
