Position Summary: The primary focuses of this role are to grow the bank and develop/lead a team of retail employees.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Leads, coaches, develops, supports, and motivates staff to achieve sales, service, and operational goals.

  • Provide a quality client experience with each, and every, interaction.

  • Understands all Bank products and services and makes recommendations to clients to meet their needs.

  • Meet regularly with existing and potential customers to create new or enhance existing relationships, provide information, encourage referrals, explore unmet financial needs and sell products and services to meet the customers needs.

  • Maintains overall responsibility for Branch sales and service levels. Develops an effective sales culture utilizing sales processes and techniques.

  • Meets or exceeds deposit growth goals.

  • Ensures staff comply with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and any other Bank requirements.

  • Actively promotes a management team philosophy to ensure support and consistent communication of policies, procedures and sales/service objectives.

  • Assist with issues relating to policies, procedures, product knowledge, service delivery, and problem resolution.

  • Ensure staff development is available in all areas; sales, service, policies and procedures, product knowledge, operations and compliance. Recognizes leadership qualities and cultivates supervisory candidates.

  • Comply with and follow all applicable policies and procedures as well as governing laws and regulations. This includes but is not limited to: performing all assigned duties under the WVBK compliance programs and related laws and regulations. Successfully completing all mandatory compliance training as assigned in a timely manner.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Leads and manages all Branch staff which would include: Relationship Banker(s) at the assigned branch.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of bank products and services.

  • Knowledge of bank policies and procedures.

  • Strong PC skills (MS Office)

  • Highly developed customer service and sales management skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proven leadership and management abilities.

  • Ability to lead and work effectively on a team.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to be self-directed and function under limited supervision.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience including 3+ years of sales experience and 1 year of management or supervisory experience.


Mental and Physical Effort:

Decision making involves important choices in applying rules, regulations, policies and procedures to the work that needs to be made without regular supervision or approval.


Lifting equipment or files of 1-10 pounds on a regular basis, lifting equipment or boxes of 10-25 pounds on an occasion. Sits or stands for long periods of time working at a computer and typing. Uses hands to handle controls or feel objects, tools or controls. Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.


Working Conditions:

Works in a customer facing position in an office environment with minimal workplace hazards and low to moderate levels of noise. May deal with customers or visitors to the workplace who may be upset or pose challenges. Works during the day and during the week, some positions may require working on weekends. Regular travel to other work sites, conferences, training or meetings required.
