Position Summary
The Metropolitan Airports Commission is seeking a Badging Specialist to provide support to the Airport Police Department's Badging Office. This position is responsible for providing daily security and access badging services to airport tenants, contractors, vendors, and airline personnel. Responsibilities include badge issuance, document verification, database and records administration, security training, financial transactions and reconciliation, and fingerprinting.

The Ideal Candidate – The ideal candidate will have experience providing quality in-person customer service and the ability to adapt to frequent interruptions while completing tasks with a high level of accuracy.

Status – This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Hours may vary slightly and may include occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Pre-employment Background – The pre-employment background for Badging Specialist is very thorough and may require up to four weeks to complete. Successful candidates must pass this comprehensive background check and be able to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) airport badge.

Verify badge applications for accurate information

  • Review identification for validity and accuracy for citizens and non-citizens
  • Enter data and maintain electronic and paper records systems
  • Fingerprint new applicants
  • Process and reconcile financial transactions
  • Prepare reports, forms, and correspondence
  • Other various office duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of in-person customer service experience
  • Two years or more of experience answering phones, filing, copying and record keeping
  • Experience in checking credentials or documents for validity and data accuracy
  • Ability to maintain focus and adapt to frequent interruptions in a fast-paced customer-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in data entry
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic skill level using Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends as required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years’ experience in a security-related environment
  • Associate degree in security, business, or related field
  • Previous badging/fingerprinting experience
  • Knowledge and experience with MSP badging procedures
  • Previous airport experience
  • Experience training or speaking in front of groups of people
  • Ability to communicate in a second language

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.22 - $33.42 per hour
