Come join our fun Team and be a part of our story! We are a luxury AAA Four Diamond Property located in The Villages, FL. We are currently seeking On-Call Banquet Servers to provide exceptional service at our events.

JOB SUMMARY

On-Call Banquet Servers are responsible for setting up all necessary items for a meal function, servicing guests, and clearing room when the event is completed. Since all the associates are like a team and should function as one, the skills of each banquet server are important and by helping and supporting one another, the staff successfully contributes in creating a memorable event for the guests, upholding our hotel's AAA Four-Diamond designation. In so doing, is expected to direct all efforts toward guest satisfaction, the achievement/maintenance of Brownwood standards and profit maximization.

This position requires a flexible on call schedule including weekends and holidays. Prior hotel experience is preferred, but not required. Applicant needs to have outstanding customer service skills to be considered for the position

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Upon reporting to work, receives room function assignments from Banquet Captain
  • Have common knowledge of menu and food allergens.
  • Set up dining table according to meal function
  • Creatively designs set up of beverage and food buffets
  • Ensure table place-settings, including table linen, china, glass, silverware and condiments for correct placement to ensure that each element is clean, undamaged and attractive.
  • Knowledgeable of proper service etiquette
  • Needs to be attentive to the guests but not to appear intrusive, should try and succeed to make them feel at ease and should create comfortable serving atmosphere
  • Engage guest and ensure satisfaction of service
  • Responsible for handling, storage, and security of all catering service equipment.
  • Notifies the Banquet Captain of any shortages in regards to equipment.
  • Handles all guest requests, as necessary; requests the assistance of Banquet Captain as necessary.
  • Making sure that function rooms, hallways and storage areas are clean, and the equipment is cleaned and stored properly after each shift.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of banquet cage, cooler and back storage.

SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Informs Banquet Captain of any needed repairs
  • Searches and recommends new products and methods of operation to Banquet Captain
  • Responsible for providing necessary immediate attention to any guest or associate concerns/needs, and notifying Captain or Security team if necessary.
  • Ensures that energy conservation (Turning off lights in an empty room) and loss prevention guidelines are followed
  • Properly and accurately performs any special assignments made by the Banquet Captain.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Adhering to all standard policies and procedures.
  • Performing all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner at all times maintaining a commitment to EXCELLENCE.
  • Maintaining a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow associates (both within the department and in other hotel departments), to help achieve our common goals of maximizing guest satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a POSITIVE ATTITUDE toward the hotel and the job being performed.
  • Reporting to work on time (as scheduled) and in proper uniform.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a server (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma and or GED

PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
