Position: Paramedic - Free-Standing Emergency Department

Shift: Night Shift

Located on the intersection of Wadsworth Blvd and Alameda Ave, Belmar ER offers full-service emergency care while maintaining Swedish Medical Center's standard of high-quality service. The Belmar ER an affiliate of Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children.

Adult and pediatric patients who visit the Belmar ER receive the same level of emergency care services they would if treated at Swedish. Our patients are seen by board-certified physicians with specialty physicians on-call for consultation. Children who visit the ER will be comforted by our compassionate nurses with pediatric certifications.

Position Summary:

The Paramedic under the direction of the designated Emergency Department physician, charge nurse and Director of Emergency Services at Belmar Emergency Room is responsible for implementing technical procedures and care to Emergency Department patients safely and effectively. The quality of care and service given will adhere to the philosophy and objectives of Swedish Medical Center in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and their families. The Paramedic works responsibly under the direct supervision and responsibility of the Emergency Department (ED) physicians performing care for patient(s) in accordance with physician's orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Paramedics will be staffed in low-and medium-acuity areas as well as the pediatric ED.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Current AHA Healthcare Provider (BLS), ACLS Provider, PALS Provider certifications.
• Current certification in the State of Colorado as a Paramedic.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a field paramedic or EMT with an EMS agency, and/or any type of clinical experience working in a hospital.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Demonstrates good organizational skills.
• Some specified skills may be required by specific departments.
• Significant focus on customer service and patient experience.
• Other duties as assigned including stocking supplies, and covering clerk desk and camera room as needed.
