JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision as the Benefit Plan Manager, you will be responsible for selling group benefit products and managing the customer service and renewal support for the client. The Benefit Plan Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining positive client relationships. Strives for superior performance by consistently providing a product or service to leadership and staff that is recognized as ultimately contributing to the patient and family experience. Recognizes and demonstrates understanding of patient and family centered care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solid understanding of different benefit plans such as health, dental, and vision.
- Responsible for the design and execution of the health and wellbeing plans and programs while ensuring consistency with best practices and competitive practices.
- Working collaboratively to coordinate and deliver Memorial Healthcare Health Plan to new and existing clients.
- Serves as primary point of contact for our products and services for clients and their employees.
- Follow up on company leads and convert into MHC Health Plan clients.
- Using methods such as networking, cold calling, etc. to identify opportunities and cultivate trust with potential customers.
- Collaborate with Business Development to execute on effective marketing strategies to sell insurance plans to new clients or up-sell to current clients.
- Manage the launch and growth of Memorial Healthcare benefit plan to the surrounding community.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships for long-term benefit strategies and administration as well as ongoing assessments and plan administration.
- Support benefit plan renewal activity and benefit plan open enrollment with tasks and communications with health plan clients.
- Establishes and maintains a positive client working relationship; builds client loyalty and successfully contributes to high client retention rates.
- Recommends services and products to the client as appropriate to improve the client’s employment-related operations and efficiencies.
- Monitors service and product delivery to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports hospital mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality statements, corporate compliance plan, customer service standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
DEPARTMENTAL AND ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledgeable and experienced in group health benefits and effective in presenting, persuading and closing.
- Results driven with a focus on adding clients to the MHC health plan book of business.
- Other duties as assigned
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION (List required, and preferred if applicable)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR or similar area.
EXPERIENCE (List required, and preferred if applicable)
- 5+ years of related employee benefits experience preferred.
- Proven experience selling group benefits preferred.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES/MOTOR SKILLS
- Able to travel independently throughout all Memorial Healthcare facilities.
- Small motor skills required for operating modern computer, office, and telephone equipment as utilized by Memorial Healthcare (MHC).
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL ABILITIES
- Proficiency using modern office, computer and telephone equipment as used by Memorial Healthcare.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES
- Ability to adapt and maintain focus in fast paced, quickly changing or stressful situations.
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents including, but not limited to policies, operating instructions, white papers, regulations, rules and laws.
ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
- Able to see for the purpose of reading information received in formats including but not limited to paper, computer, reports, bulletins, updates, manuals.
- Able to hear for work-related purposes.
