We are looking for an energetic and results-driven Benefits Coordinator to join our corporate HR team. This role will administer employee benefits for over 850 employees in 12 different states (so far). The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for administering group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, 401(k), short-term disability, life insurance, illness and hospital, and workers compensation) while providing exceptional service. Serves as the point-of-contact for employees with benefit related questions or issues. Assists with the leave of absence (LOA) process including FMLA, PFL, WC, personal and intermittent leaves. Is primary back up payroll processing functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports our employees in full-service benefits administration, including processing new hires, employee changes/enrollments, terminations, resolving employee benefits issues and answering questions.
  • Ensures a seamless and exemplary benefits enrollment experience for all employees enrolling in company benefit plans. Provides new employees with an explanation of benefits and instructs them on enrollment procedures.
  • Processes new hires and performs benefits orientations virtually.
  • Researches Federal, State and Local benefits regulations and rules.
  • Critically reviews and analyzes current benefits and recommends/implements changes leading to best practices.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding benefit plans and supports leaves of absences, answering questions regarding STD/FML/PFL, etc. and resolving issues and/or concerns.
  • Completes state disability and carrier disability forms for employees on LOA in a timely manner.
  • Supports annual open enrollment process in partnership with broker.
  • Partners with the finance team to help reconcile all benefits accounts monthly or as needed. Resolves discrepancies with carriers & payroll.
  • Manages qualifying event changes and COBRA notices.
  • Administer 401(k) plan serving as the primary point of contact for employees.
  • Performs payroll functions as backup.
