Overview

Responsible for the administration and technical support in the development, implementation of company’s benefit programs while providing direction and training to employees on benefit options and selections. Maintains active relationships with ancillary and wellness providers, processes multiple supplier invoices and reconciliations, enrollment activities, eligibility tracking, and timely submission of transactional items based on defined timelines. Ensures programs are current with regards to trends, practices, and costs. Resolves employee issues with regards to benefits matters. Works on system between HRIS solution and insurance providers and carriers. Administers and communicates the company's benefits programs regarding the plan options, policy features and other requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Benefits administration experience and knowledge, including but not limited to ongoing management of the systems, coordinating transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration, oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Assist in the implementation of new HCM project with UKG.
  • Audits data records to ensure accuracy of reports and invoices; arranges for timely flow of benefits payments.
  • Conducts analysis and usage evaluations of benefit programs.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefit options, benefit entitlements, plan design, co-payments, deductibles, and dependent coverages.
  • Administers benefits programs including fulfillment of reporting requirements, monitoring and coordination of general day-to-day administration of retirement and other health and welfare insurance plans.
  • Suggests and implements audit techniques to ensure maximum effectiveness; coordinates and follows-up on all data preparation, record keeping, recording, reporting and filing of claims applicable to employees.
  • Support efforts to improve efficiencies and effectiveness across the team.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Tracks benefit eligibility dates and notifies employees of entitlement eligibility.
  • Conducts benefit orientation meetings with individuals and groups as needed to introduce plan modifications and regulatory changes affecting participants.
  • Assist with reconciliation with health benefit claims issues on behalf of employees as appropriate.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of benefit legislation, industry standards and best practices. Stays informed on most recent changes in healthcare reform and modifies processes and plan designs to ensure compliance.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to employees relative to the policies, practices, and procedures affecting their benefit eligibility and entitlements.
  • Maintains and updates the employee Benefits Summaries and information for a variety of benefit plans (medical, dental, ancillary, flexible spending, PTO, retirement plans, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years recent experience performing benefits analysis or administration role.
  • Well versed in federal and state employment and leave laws as well as knowledge of relevant federal state regulations including HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, etc.
  • Ability to design and generate queries, reports, and export from HRIS System
  • Strong customer service, detail-oriented, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
  • Highly organized with strong and thorough written and verbal communication skills.
  • Timely response skills needed to respond to employees, employee inquiries, claims, billing, and entitlement issues.
  • Proficient with on-line benefit databases, use of Excel spreadsheets required.
  • Advance experience with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, XLookup, etc.)
  • Ability to query data and structure data in easy-to-use reports and charts.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite, Great Plains and UKG preferred.
  • Understand and demonstrates highest degree of data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and as part of an established team.
