PITCO Foods Payroll Specialist / Human Resources Generalist

PITCO Foods is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist / Human Resources Generalist to join their growing team in the San Jose, California location.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate the accuracy of timesheets submitted by each company department every week and contact supervisors or individual employees when there is a discrepancy.
• Accurately process the companies four payrolls using the Paycom payroll software before payroll submission deadline.
• Respond to any errors in payroll by reviewing past records and making any wage corrections or adjustments when necessary.
• Track employee absences through the payroll software and record details about paid time off, jury duty, bereavement and extended leaves of absence.
• Answer employee questions about payroll, leave amounts, tax forms and other compensation issues.
• Provide company management with various payroll specific reports on a regular basis or as needed.
• Generating official internal documents such as offer letters.
• Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations.
• Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records.
• Collaborating with management and executive leadership in order to execute proper human resources training and compliance.
• This position pays between $25-$35 an hour depending on experience.

Other Human Resource responsibilities include providing support for other areas within the department such as recruitment, benefits and wellness administration, employee relations concerns, health and safety compliance, employee engagement and retention, leave of absence administration, workers compensation reporting, and corporate compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

2 years of work experience in Payroll and Human Resources.

Knowledge of current labor, payroll and employment laws within California.

The ability to build good rapport with all employees.

The ability to effectively organize tasks and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent priority management and time management skills.

Exceptional attention to detail.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual Fluency
• Experience using the Paycom payroll software
• Associate degree or higher in business administration, finance or accounting
