Job Description:
Responsible for assisting with centralized billing functions for Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance third-party claim submissions, including collection, for affiliated senior living communities. Monitor for and adhere to state/federal compliance with regulations in billing office processes.
Duties include:
- Perform continual follow-up to facilitate collection of resident accounts, including A/R Aging Reports, and document understanding.
- Assist in the preparation and collection of information related to the annual financial audit and cost reports.
- Prepare Medicare Part A bad debts schedule on a quarterly basis for financial reporting and annual cost reporting purposes.
- Prepare allowance for doubtful accounts calculation schedule for assigned affiliates on a monthly basis.
- Submit data for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance reimbursement claims and act as a backup to generate resident private pay statements for affiliates, if needed.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in long-term care billing and bookkeeping required.
