Biomedical Engineer; 7am-3:30pm; Weekends when on call; 80 hours ppd
Job description
The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for all biomedical equipment. This position reports to the Director of Facilities Management.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and service repairs on all biomedical equipment.
2. Timely completion and appropriate documentation of all required maintenance.
3. Assist department leaders with training staff on the operation of medical equipment.
4. Assist with the evaluation, investigation, and selection of medical equipment.
5. Provides supervision for the Biomedical Technician.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
a.) Satisfactory completion of a recognized BMET course of instruction, or specialized training in electronics or engineering.
- Licensure/Certification
a.) None required. CBET preferred.
- Work Experience
a.) Five to ten years as a biomedical engineer or technician.
