Shifts available:

  • 1st shift 6:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • 2nd shift 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm

Title: Pharmacy Technician - Manufacturing

Department: Manufacturing

Reports To: Pharmacy Supervisor

Position Purpose and Objectives

  • To accurately weigh raw material ingredients for processing tablets, capsule, or powder formulations.
  • Documentation and manufacturing activities related to powder blending as per the formula and blending procedures (SOP’s).

Essential Job Functions

  • Must follow all GMP’s and relevant SOP’s to the position.
  • Will cross train with other areas; Compression, Blending and Encapsulation.
  • Accurately follows batch record.
  • Stage raw materials needed for the weighing process.
  • Weighs and labels ingredients.
  • Verify all labels with batch records to ensure weights are properly recorded.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensures his work station is kept clean and safe during the weighing operation.
  • Cleans equipment following proper sanitation techniques.
  • Has strong interaction with representatives from other departments.
  • Continuously trains, monitors, and supports the personnel assigned to his/her area of responsibility (including temporary help when applicable).
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications for working in a cGMP, quality environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Good communication skills to enable communication with area supervisor.
  • Must be able to read, write, and have basic math skill (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, rounding)
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates a high level of responsibility and knowledge of job functions.
  • High School education (HS Diploma or GED) or one year mechanical and/or manufacturing experience with good references.
  • Ability to stand and keep up in a fast paced environment.
  • Poses a sense of urgency.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Able to execute other tasks assigned by Senior Management.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Willing to learn and apply new skills.

Working Conditions

Dynamic manufacturing environment with physical demands.

Must be physically able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly.

Must be able to perform repetitive motion, bending, and lifting.

Ability to standing for long periods of time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Elementary school diploma or equivalent; high school a plus.
  • Be able to read and write, and perform basic math operations.
  • Able to pass a drug screen
  • Clean background check.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
