ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Mold Shop Supervisor or Vice President Manufacturing, individual:

  • Laminate layers of fiberglass on molds to form boat decks and hulls.
  • Apply layers of plastic resin to mold surfaces prior to placement of fiberglass mats,
  • Mask off mold areas which are not to be laminated, using wax paper, masking tape, or
  • Mix catalysts into resins, and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures, using brushes
  • Place or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using brushes or hands,
  • Repair or modify damaged or defective glass-fiber parts, checking thicknesses, densities,
  • Select precut fiberglass mats, cloth, and core materials as required by projects being
  • Spray resins, and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies using pneumatic spray guns with
  • Trim cured materials by sawing them with diamond-impregnated cutoff wheels, grinder,
  • Trim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knives.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.
  • Must bring your own tools to work each day, such as: tape measure, hand tools.

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (face masks, goggles, etc.).
