Job description
The Valdosta campus of Georgia Military College is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Evening Bookstore Associate. The Valdosta Campus of GMC conducts a book rental program which requires detailed recording keeping. Duties include checking out and receiving books through the POS system, daily cashier duties, maintaining store inventory, and assisting students in numerous ways. The bookstore often serves as an extension of other offices on campus providing answers to frequently asked questions, providing contact information for other administrative areas, and making student ID cards. This position requires extended periods of standing and reaching over head to retrieve books and serve students. The position also requires the ability to use a step ladder and to lift at least 20 pounds.
The hours for the position are from [ 9am to 2pm, Monday - Thursday] during the term dates, with opportunities for additional hours during the day at designated peak times during the year.

Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Cashier experience
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and reach overhead
- Ability to use a step ladder
- Ability to work evening hours
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a college bookstore
- Experience with inventory protocol
