As a Youth and Adult Boxing Instructor, you will be responsible for instructing a non-sparring boxing class for youth, ages 10-17. You are responsible for creating lesson plans and workouts, as well as teaching technique, endurance, strength, and skill. This is a part-time role based out of the Townlake YMCA Center.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience

What are the details?

• You would teach kids and adults the basic fundamentals of boxing and build from there. Running 2-1 hour classes each week for ages 7-13 and 13-99+ each month.
• You would come up with a workout with 12-15 rounds of warm-up, footwork, shadow boxing, heavy bag, speed bag, and the opportunity for mitt work with you. Sparring is not allowed at the Y.
• You would build a positive, encouraging, and welcoming experience for each child, teen, and adult.
• You adhere to policies and procedures in a proactive manner, making the safety and care of children, teens, and adults your primary focus.
• You serve as a professional and engaging representative of the Y with parents and children
• You create a positive, welcoming, supportive and safe environment.

What you bring to the Purpose:

• Education and Experience: Boxing experience and boxing passbook required. Experience teaching or caring for kids ages 6-12. Minimum age of 18 years.
• You are organized and productive. You are organized, able to prioritize tasks and ensure a fun experience and share the love of boxing with each child and adult.
• You are a strong Communicator. You listen for understanding and meaning. You communicate well with parents and kids.
• You foster a culture of inclusion and belonging. You leverage people’s differences as strengths.
