In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a Brand Manager in Richmond, VA.
The Snus Brand Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and executing strategic plans that drive brand awareness, consumer loyalty, and brand relevancy while staying within budgeted objectives. The Brand Manager is responsible for meeting expectations with on-going requirements to maintain MRTP status with the FDA. This position will have exposure to upper levels of management and will be expected to lead a data-driven, consumer-centric insight platform to deliver optimum results. The Brand Manager will lead research initiatives, provide insights and develop strategies and tactics to compete effectively in the marketplace and deliver financial metrics and key KPIs in the short-term and establish strategies for long-term success of the brand.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead all activities relating to product management including pricing, promotion, product, packaging, advertising, product/line extensions & innovation.
- Drive promotional development and promotional calendar recommendations, as well as program support material, including selling materials and point-of-sale.
- Establish brand plan development through the planning process & develops marketing program recommendations based on brand strategies.
- Manage MRTP (Modified Risk Tobacco Product) order status with the FDA. This includes documentation of marketing materials, post-market surveillance, etc. to ensure we maintain MRTP designation.
- Perform traditional brand management functions, including competitive and category analysis, assessment of opportunity and risks, strategy, and tactical development plans, as well as financial analysis.
- Manage and work cohesively with vendors/agencies and other departments to ensure smooth and strategically relevant communication is being delivered in the market.
- Track and anticipate competitive activity and legislative influences/policies and develops appropriate response strategies.
- Communicate brand strategies to marketing, trade marketing, sales, and other departments.
- Develop strong understanding of manufacturing process, costs, and implications.
- Evaluate and analyze program results and presents recommendations for changes in brand strategy.
- Develop and manage digital strategy, including Website and CRM efforts.
- Develop, direct, and measure execution of strategic 1-3 year Long Range Plans to attain volume, market share and profit commitments.
- Continually strive to understand consumer insights through market knowledge, consumer research, and syndicated & internal data and relates those insights to plans, strategies and tactics.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; MBA desired
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years of brand management OR (5) years of sales management experience with a consumer-packaged goods industry.

- Strong strategic analytical skills; P&L management.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, including a history of developing & driving initiatives that achieve objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate ability of problem solving & creativity.
- Manage client relationships.
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Able to draft reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Syndicated/internal data.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
