Primary Responsibilities

HDR Engineering is looking for a Bridge Design Project Manager to join our Denver, CO team. The project manager will be expected take initiative to become involved on projects both at the local and national level. To work with established internal and external client relationships and grow new ones in order to seek out and obtain work. To build and oversee teams and review the structural design on bridges, culverts, and walls. Projects are expected to be both at both the local and national level.



In the role of Bridge Design Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
• Manage teams (and participate when needed) to design and QC bridge designs, develop design plans, perform structural load calculations and quantity takeoffs, review shop drawings and field submittals.
• Work in a team environment as well as independently while challenging yourself to acquire knowledge and experience in both engineering and project management.
•Support the bridge design group and other disciplines by either managing or being a deputy manager to existing contracts.

  • Support the bridge design group and other disciplines by applying or overseeing structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of structural designs.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • MS in Structures (or similar) preferred.
  • Professional Engineer certification is required.
  • 7 years’ related experience required.
  • This position requires proficiency in use of typical office software such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams preferred.
  • Experience as a structural bridge lead preferred.
  • Experience working on a project throughout the entire life (proposal to construction) considered a plus.
  • Familiarity in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, CSiBridge, LARSA, AASHTOWare BrR, LEAP Bridge or similar preferred.
  • Proficiency with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications and other DOT design guidelines is required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good communication skills and be willing to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment on a wide range of projects.
