Job Description
Pennoni is currently looking for an Bridge Remedial Construction Inspector with experience consistent, but not limited to:
- Candidate will be performing construction inspection of bridges and other structures within District Department of Transportation.
- Candidate will observe and document contractor’s work as assigned by the Resident Engineer.
- Candidate should be familiar with DOT procedures, specifications, maintenance of traffic and safety requirements, as well as routine bridge maintenance & repair operations.
- Inspectors shall take and record quantities, check and verify layout, observe the work, and maintain records, logs, and reports. Inspectors shall verify work, perform materials testing as appropriate, and maintain paperwork daily in both paper and electronic formats
Required Attributes
- Must have reliable transportation
- Available to work irregular hours outdoors in various weather conditions to properly monitor the assigned projects.
- Subject to 24/7 call-back for emergency operations.
- Must hold or be able to acquire technician certifications within 6 months of hire, including WACEL, MARTCP, NICET, VDOT, ACI, and/or MDE as required by assignment.
Preferred Attributes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar field.
- Preferred candidate would have previous working experience with DDOT, bridge contracting firm, or as an ironworker, especially related to steel / joint repairs, bearing pad replacements, deck punctures, and similar.
- Additional certifications such as CWI, ICC, NACE, SSPC, CMIT, and CCM also preferred
