Job Summary:
The Broadcast Technician I is responsible for assisting Technician II with event and show based audio visual technical systems. Must identify and repair any damaged or defective broadcast audio or video cabling in a timely manner. Interest in gaining knowledge on cable television modulation, distribution systems, and broadcast systems is expected.
Essential Functions:
- Organize and set up broadcast equipment for scheduled event.
- Take direction from the Technician II to assist with technical needs of scheduled events
- Ensure all broadcast equipment is working properly. Escalate unresolved problems in a timely manner to Technician II.
- Assist with scoreboard and arena timing systems as needed.
- Strike and inventory all equipment at conclusion of event.
- Troubleshoot and quickly resolve problems with Arena MATV systems.
- Assist with the repair and or building of various types broadcast audio and video cabling.
- Assist Technician II with general maintenance (cleaning) of broadcast equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred). Graduate or currently enrolled n College or Technical Trade School in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 0-2 Years of related work experience
- Interested in growing in the Digital Media and/or Broadcasting field
- Good interpersonal skills for relationship building within management team and staff
- Strong computer skills using programs as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good reasoning ability
- Good trouble shooting skills
- Ability to solder and use cable termination tools
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure in order to meet broadcast deadlines, make decisions, and take corrective action under tight timelines.
- Ability to walk up and down steps and ladders.
- Communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
