SECTION I: GENERAL OVERVIEW AND REPORTING

The Siplast Building Enclosure Senior Territory Manager is responsible for promoting and selling Siplast Wall Control products and all aspects of general administration within his/her district. This role engages with owner/developers, construction and enclosure consultants, architects, specifiers, distributors, and installing contractors to provide significant technical advice and guidance in their design, specification, and installation processes. This includes identifying project opportunities, generating and disseminating leads, deepening the customer network, providing professional learning units, and demonstrating products. This role will be accountable for influencing the key decision-makers in the commercial construction process to increase sales opportunities for Siplast and our customer base.

SECTION II: DUTIES AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The primary duties of the Building Enclosure Senior Territory Manager consists of but is not limited to, the following:

  • Product sales, accomplished primarily through specification selling to major owners, architects, roofing consultants, and roofing contractors, includes identification of prospective jobs and decision-making individuals, timely contact, and effective follow-up. Also includes proper use of sales and promotional tools provided by the Company and the development of additional tools, such as local job photos, testimonials, references, etc.
  • Technical services, including development and/or review of building enclosure specifications for prospective jobs, participation in pre-construction meetings (when required), conducting periodic project inspections (in progress and final as required), and basic troubleshooting. Work closely with local field technical representatives in prioritizing and managing the technical needs of his/her district.
  • Budget management, including sales and related business expenses, to ensure that all district expenses are within defined limits and policies followed
  • Develop and monitor sales budget and forecast for his/her district.
  • General administration, including timely completion of all administrative reports required (expense reports, prospect lists, job quotes, shipping forecasts, call reports, activity reports, guarantee forms, and factory warehouse inventory reports per established guidelines and time frames).
  • Pricing administration, including the maximizing price on each job, proper and timely documentation for pricing, and responsible determination for required pricing deviations, based upon job size, competitive threat, specification rigidity, etc.
  • Credit administration, including assisting the Credit Manager as required, in maintaining all accounts in a "current" or "acceptable" status.
  • Personnel management as applicable, including working with the Building Enclosure Sales Manager to determine the proper staffing of the District, selection, training, motivation, and evaluation of all District personnel, including company personnel Technical Sales Representatives or Independent Sales Representatives. For internal direct reports (if applicable), this requires training, coaching, and counseling, frequent informal feedback, annual performance evaluations, and working with the Human Resources Manager when corrective action is required.
  • Distribution management, including determining need for and selecting adequate sources of material supply in all markets serviced, assisting (when required), with inventory determination and management, and training and motivation of distributor personnel.
  • Field Safety
  • Participate in Siplast safety training & complete quizzes by deadlines
  • Adhere to Job Site Safety Practices & Mfg. Plant Safety Practices
  • Wear appropriate PPE for jobsite & manufacturing facilities (i.e. hardhat, safety glasses, reflective vest, work boots, gloves, appropriate clothing, etc.)
  • Exercise rooftop & ladder safety precautions when applicable
  • Adhere to company policies concerning driver safety and cell phone usage (i.e. use of hands-free devices, no texting while driving, etc.)
  • Exercise safe driving practices
  • Follow job site safety standards as prescribed by contractor or building owner
  • Report a job-related injury to HR immediately

SECTION III: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have (and maintain) a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Ability to have and maintain a credit card for business-related expenses
  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Associates degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience in the roofing, building, or construction industry and 1 or more year of experience handling client/customer relationships, or
  • High school diploma / GED with 10 or more years of relevant experience in the roofing, building, or construction industry and 5 or more years of experience handling client/customer relationships

SECTION IV: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ year experience in the building or construction industry, building science, building enclosure and water management product knowledge experience
  • 10+ year of Architectural and specification selling, while handling client/customer relationships
  • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or G Suite
  • Face to face sales call experience
  • Proven ability to establish business relationships
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Sales ability and persuasiveness

SECTION V: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to drive a vehicle and travel unassisted, such as air travel
  • Ability to frequently work in a stationary position for long periods; ability to frequently move about to accomplish tasks or to move from one work area to another
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions including high/low temperatures, dust, humidity, etc.
  • Ability to wear/work in PPE
  • Close and far visual acuity to view documents, computer screens, perform inspections, drive a vehicle, etc.
  • Ability to frequently and quickly converse with and convey information to others on the phone and in-person
  • Ability to perceive hazards and quickly respond to sounds on jobsites to demonstrate building enclosure applications, etc., and in manufacturing plant and lab environments
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment and keyboards, perform data entry, filing, application demos, and site inspections
  • Ability to position self to bend, pull, and reach overhead and/or below shoulder level to perform filing duties, booth setup, application demos, etc,
  • Ability to work with heights; ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding, and stairs
  • Ability to position self to move safely over even and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally (booth, sample boxes, products, etc.)
