What You Will Do:

Building Operations Manager
Full Time
Easton, MD

1. Assists the Director in planning, organizing, and directing Facility Operations activities to assure quality service; develops and implements departmental policies and procedures.

2. Promotes and participates in continuous quality improvement efforts. Monitors and makes necessary changes in operations/systems to improve quality of service. Fosters the development and maintenance of an environment where exceptional quality and service are achieved and recognized.

3. Ensures compliance with all standards of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Department of Health and other regulatory agencies by monitoring operations.

4. Develops annual departmental budgets in association with the Director; operates within its framework; justifies budget variances. Consults with the Director, Administration, and Finance concerning department budgets, renovation and similar projects requiring large capital expenditures. Assist Director in preparing and monitoring annual Capital Budget.

5. Coordinates and schedules all vendors and contractors for repair and maintenance of all Shore Regional Health facilities and non-clinical equipment.

6. Maintains communication and promotes positive, creative, honest and mutually beneficial relationships with co-workers and Administration; works cooperatively to achieve Shore Regional Health goals and objectives. Collaborates with other departments to resolve problems, and promote harmonious relationships within the System.

7. Develops/evaluates scheduling of employees to ensure uninterrupted services and supports changes in services and patient care demands.

8. Implements Shore Regional Health policies and procedures; keeps abreast of and communicates changes in policies and procedures to staff.

9. Recruits and hires new personnel. Continuously monitors and evaluates performance. Handles disciplinary and employee relations issues, in conjunction with Human Resources. Plans and coordinates staff education.

10. Maintains professional growth and development to keep abreast of field including accreditation requirements.

11. Strives to achieve excellence of services as described in the CARE Commitments.

12. Responds to Shore Regional Health codes as appropriate.

13. Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee’s knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State Laws and regulations.

14. Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.

15. Performs related duties as assigned.

What You Need to Be Successful:

• Associates Degree from accredited school of civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or a minimum of five years experience in building operations or utilities operations.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of JCAHO Environment of Care Standards preferred.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
