10 hour to 40 hours

Member and partner of the Culinary Services team. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the mission of Hebrew Senior Life and recognize resident/patient dignity and choice in aspects of daily life. Work with team to meet all needs of the members of New Bridge. Strive to make every encounter with a resident/patient into a positive and meaningful experience and opportunity, while providing safe and efficient quality of care.


To courteously and professionally greet guests upon arrival and assist servers while they are serving members and their guests meals in the dining rooms. Take ownership of member satisfaction for service. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and inform Host/Hostess/Restaurant Manager/ Supervisor of member’s likes and dislikes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests upon arrival
  • Courteously interact with members at all times
  • Refill water glasses and offer bread
  • Stock linen, glass ware, china, and silverware in server stations
  • Keep coffee pots filled with fresh coffee and coffee station clean at all times.
  • Remove walkers from dining room into walker storage area
  • Clean tables and carry soiled trays to dish washing area
  • Presets tables in assigned area and follows serving and cleaning procedures as directed by managers
  • Buss tables and reset tables once members have departed.
  • Assist servers as necessary
  • To be familiarized with the daily menu offerings with special regard to chef pre-meal.
  • Keep dining room and work area, neat and orderly at all times.
  • Follow daily sanitation cleaning schedules.
  • Attend in-service training sessions with co-workers to keep abreast of current knowledge in the field.
  • Cooperate and coordinate work activities with co-workers to ensure a smoothly run department.
  • Be alert to the likes and dislikes of members when serving food and making the supervisor promptly aware of any problems.
  • Keep current on all local and state codes pertaining to food preparation, sanitation and storage and food allergens.
  • Willing to learn the art of food serving, must have pleasant personality and the ability to communicate well with people.
