Job Description
VBA Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) is responsible for providing eligible program participants with compensable service-connected disabilities, all services and assistance necessary to enable them, to the maximum extent possible, to become employable, to obtain and maintain suitable employment, and achieve maximum independence in daily living.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for conducting examinations of business requirements to assess needs, collect information, and identify alternative methods and solutions. The Business Analyst will also conduct research and provide analytical support to strategic planning, training development, problem solving, quality management, financial analysis, and business process reengineering.
The Business Analyst will be a problem solver, collaborator, and excellent communicator. He or she will have experience supporting large VA IT Programs as a Management Analyst with preferred qualifications understanding the development of access databases, input from related systems in the VA field.
Key Responsibilities (Bullets)
- The Business Analyst (BA) will have experience working with process reengineering, and requirements definition, with an expert understanding of business solution scope and objectives based on industry requirements.
- Develop or modify processes and procedures to solve complex problems in business and information environments and be able to articulate instruction effectively to other team members.
- Create and deliver executive level presentations and meetings.
- Possess ability to perform data analysis, risk identification and process improvement.
- Leadership and experience in complete analysis of business needs, requirements documentation, and translation into service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or more advanced degree in business management or other related fields
- 6 years relevant experience in process reengineering (6 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area supported by this position (e.g. training, financial analysis and business process reengineering).
- Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and complex problems, interpret and recommend alternative courses of action, and implement intervention strategies to attain performance targets.

- Experience working with the Federal Government, Department of Veterans Affairs a plus
- Strong customer relationship capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to foster collaborative work in dynamic team environment
- Ability to interact with partners and clients
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels in an organization, with both verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, One Note, Outlook)
- Able to pass a background check to obtain a VA Public Trust (High-Risk) clearance
Compensation
$86,005.00 - $141,913.00
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may will be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees and is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
