The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

The business analyst is responsible for supporting the Compliance Manager with daily financial and business analysis for the Asset Management directorate. Also, promoting effective fixed asset management, financial management, and internal controls for the U.S. House of Representatives, Office of Logistics and Support. Major duties include but are not limited to maintaining and analyzing fixed asset data; transaction processing; asset management audit inquiry support; asset reconciliations; financial and management reporting; develop and monitor metrics; audit process training and accountability; and other duties or special projects as assigned.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, reconciles, summarizes, and maintains U.S House of Representatives fixed asset data

  • Compiles and generates asset management reports in a timely manner; analyzes data and trends

  • Serves as lead on projects as assigned; plans, manages, monitors, and/or oversees project or tasks/activities

  • Performs data entry and retrieves information from the PeopleSoft Financial System

  • Assist with responding to inquiries for audits and internal control reviews

  • Develops, monitors, and reports on key metrics based on data and observation

  • Ensure all fixed asset transactions follows approved House policies, procedures, and processes

  • Assist with effective internal control system efforts for fixed asset management

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with key stakeholders and customers

  • Reviews and analyzes reports documenting trends and operational performance

  • Assist Manager in conducting gap analyses assessing efficiencies and effectiveness of business processes

  • Manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial, accounting and/or asset management environment

  • Experience working with automated accounting systems, (PeopleSoft preferred)

•Exceptional organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with accuracy and attention to detail • Strong time management and prioritization skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain quality control standards for all processes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel skills

  • Able to work well under pressure while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

  • Must meet all applicable employment requirements for employment with the U.S. government
