Job Summary:

Jones Sign is a leading national sign company servicing businesses throughout the U.S. and beyond with over 110 years in business. We are presently searching for a Credit/Collections Manager to become part of our growing accounting team. The Credit/Collections Manager will play a key role in recommending new credit and credit limits through research and analysis of customer’s financial documents. You will also manage processes through resolution of invoice discrepancies and collections in accordance to company processes.

Duties and Expectations:

• Enter, update and retrieve customer information for credit applications
• Determine credit worthiness and establish credit limits for customers and projects
• Assess credit risk through the analysis of credit reports, financial statements and other relevant sources or data
• Communicate and enforce credit department and company payment policies
• Educate and guide sales, project managers and other employees about credit terms, payment issues and risk
• Maintain customer contact records
• Track collection efforts within company portal
• Reconcile customer statements/billings
• Monitor the Company’s accounts receivable and initiate collection calls on accounts to accelerate payment to ensure profitable growth
• Work with the billing team to collect promise to pay dates from customers
• Contact customers with overdue invoices and attempt to collect or help to resolve billing issues
• Obtain and apply property liens as required
• Oversee and manage mechanics lien processes and deadlines
• Work with outside collection companies and obtain legal assistance as required

Education, Experience or Specific Skills:

• Strong negotiation skills while exercising high level of professional judgement
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi task in a fast pace work environment
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related work experience
• 4+ years of experience handling collection, credit analysis and/or receivables
• Ability to create and edit Excel and/or Smartsheets spreadsheets
• Able to research and evaluate data to make informed decisions and solve problems
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Experience with properties liens
• Sense of discretion and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent and sensitive information
