Job Description and Qualifications

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a Business Intelligence Analyst. This role will be based at our global headquarters in Allentown, PA.


This role will be responsible for performing global business intelligence analysis to help develop and win new business, transform, improve, and integrate complex information into understandable and sharable visuals, develop digitization opportunities to improve existing business and collaborate with other organizations for Air Products’ growing global Hydrogen for Mobility business.


Responsibilities include:

This position reports to the Manager, Commercial Analytics the H2fM business and is accountable for providing business intelligence analysis to support the growth of global Hydrogen for Mobility business. This individual will be involved in all facets of business development, including the coordination of key stakeholders including engineering, finance, government relations and operations.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Perform business intelligence analysis to support pursuing and wining new hydrogen supply and fueling station opportunities with regional team.
  • Develop data driven market intelligence analysis about competitor status and market report for better market forecast and drive new business development.
  • Apply operation/business data and develop digital solutions for existing hydrogen production, distribution and fueling to improve operation and supply chain efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering, finance, operations, logistics, IT and technology team to support business strategy development, profitability improvement efforts and business digitalization.
  • Provide quantitative analysis and tracking for current and future clean energy regulations and Low Carbon subsidies generation.
  • Coordinate and support development and maintenance of new and existing digitalization tools for hydrogen for mobility business.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree required. Advanced degree in data science, engineering, business or a related field is highly preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience in business analyst or related field. Experience in industrial gas or related industry is a plus.
  • Solid quantitative analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data, interpret results, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to transform, improve and integrating complex information into understandable and sharable visuals.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Python and SQL is preferred or have a strong interest to learn
