Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, documentation and calibration of all facility/process instrumentation.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Lead the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of instrumentation and control systems on process equipment.
· Supervise work execution on site, develop procedures and instruction for the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and control system
· Manage calibration contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with all company and site procedures, policies and guidelines.
· Populate inputs into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure data and history of equipment
· Formulate a plan, review and analyze the preventive maintenance strategy for the equipment instrumentation
· Provide technical advice during troubleshooting and corrective action of instrument breakdown or failures to find the root cause and best solution
· Responsible for the quality of product through the calibration and maintenance of production instrumentation and controls.
· Manage the completion of scheduled and unscheduled work orders and preventative maintenance duties, while completing required documentation.
· Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation and controls without direct supervision.
· Monitor spare parts and inventory for critical instrumentation to ensure availability when required to minimize production interruption.
· Establish new inventory where necessary.
· Update information in the inventory to ensure it is relevant for the current operation.
· Assist in the training of plant personnel on new and/or modified equipment
· Assist with validations and revalidations, as needed.
· Provide technical input during the procurement process for contract, materials and service requisitions where required
· Identify, study, propose, and implement areas for improvement in the field of instrumentation to enhance operation and improve total equipment reliability.
Essential Qualifications:
· Associate degree (plus 5+ years related work experience) or bachelor’s degree (less than 5 years related work experience) in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (required).
· Industrial experience in a regulated environment (food, beverage, or pharmaceutical).
· Minimum 2 years of supervision experience in installation, maintenance and calibration in a regulated environment (food, beverage, or pharmaceutical).
· Working knowledge of the tools and test equipment used for testing and calibrating, repairing and maintaining production instruments and controls
· Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints, electrical schematics and engineering specifications
· Must have basic understanding of electrical principals and must be familiar with the National Electrical Code
· “Hands-on” expertise and general safe-handling practices with technologies used in instrumentation and control systems.
· Experience with analog and digital electronics, particularly motor control electronics, fiber optics communications, precision opto-mechanical assemblies, and associated software.
· Quality control: demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.

Salary: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
