What you will do:

This position is responsible for the prompt and courteous assistance to all patients of DVCH. This position is responsible for courteously answering patient calls and scheduling medical appointments for each health center. The position is responsible for completing all initial paperwork involved in patient registration and producing the encounter form which allows the patient to be examined by a provider.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Screens incoming patient calls
• Conducts confirmation calls for next day appointments
• Answers questions from patients and forwards calls to the appropriate personnel
• Sorts, scans, and electronically files paper documents in the patient's electronic health record
• Verifies health insurance coverage and eligibility
• Schedules, reschedules and cancels appointments
• Completes patient referrals
• Performs other basic medical clerk duties as requested by the Providers, Team Leaders, or Health Center Manager

What you need:

• High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
• Bilingual in Spanish/English REQUIRED
• Experience in a medical office setting PREFERRED
• Ability to function independently in a fast paced/high pressure environment
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude with patients

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

DVCH requires all employees, regardless of position, to be vaccinated and stay up to date with vaccinations for COVID-19. If an employee is unable receive the vaccine for medical or religious reasons, a vaccine exemption form must be completed.
