Managing device patients requires intentional staff planning, continual workflow optimization, and careful attention to disconnected monitor lists and alert programming. Our mission is to partner with device clinics to optimize the care of the cardiac device patient. The Cardiac Device Nurse provides technical, clinical and related services in the area of Electrophysiology and Cardiology relative to Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIED’s) in the ambulatory setting. In collaboration with the Electrophysiology and Cardiology Team, this remote role serves to provide quality patient care for accurate CIED management, arrhythmia interpretation and device utilization for noninvasive arrhythmia termination protocols. Management and interpretation of CIED remote data and comprehensive knowledge of the necessary navigation of remote sites is required. This position functions in a highly specialized and unique area and requires a high level of clinical acumen and independence.

Essential Functions

· Demonstrates autonomous direct cardiac rhythm management patient care for patients with CIEDs by integrating a knowledge base from physiology, pathophysiology and the basics of electronics to perform competent device interrogations, diagnostic review, and overall analysis of device function with remote monitoring.

· Professionally communicates with Cardiac Electrophysiologists and/or other providers regarding CIED function, diagnostic data, and overall patient status through accurate, professional and standardized documentation.

· Complete scheduling protocols for remote monitoring per best practice and CV Remote Solutions guidelines

· Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and follow all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Protected Health Information (PHI) standards/protocol

· Identifies opportunities to enhance workflows in collaboration with clinic and CV Remote Solutions senior leadership.

Education, Experience and Certifications

· Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN required.

· Minimum three years of cardiac device management experience specifically with implantable rhythm management and competency in basic rhythm interpretation

· Current RN license

· International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification or willing to complete within first year of employment.
