Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Days: Mon thru Thurs 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 1pm

Location: 50 HOSPITAL DRIVE, Hendersonville, 28792

The role you’ll contribute: We are searching for an experienced Cardiac Device Technician that will produce pacemaker/AICD recordings, checks battery life, settings, sensitivity, magnate/non-magnate heart rate, ERI and leads by performing the following duties

The value you’ll bring to the team

  • Performs ECG analysis with and without magnet application (pacemaker only).
  • Performs interrogation of the patient's device with the programmer that is appropriate for their device, printing out and reviewing data such as parameter, battery and lead status, and heart rate histograms.
  • Performs output threshold testing of the pacemaker lead(s) to determine optimal settings for the device.
  • Determines underlying rhythm and sensing function, if requested. Verifies final parameters and changes, referring results to be review by a Cardiologist; Refers the patient to a nurse or Cardiologist for a physical assessment and for any changes in the patient's condition or worsening of symptoms or arrhythmias.
  • Consults technical support specialist of the company that has manufactured the pacemaker or defibrillator for a detailed review of the findings and for assistance with advanced programming details. Examines the trans-telephonic results comparing them to known indicators of proper functioning and sub clinical failure and refer the findings to the Cardiologist. After analysis of trans-telephonic results, instructs the patient to report back to Cardiologist for a more detailed follow-up.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School Diploma
  • Advanced ECG knowledge; must be proficient in reading EKG's & rhythm strips
  • Direct patient care experience in a Cardiology setting, 1 – 3 years
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
  • Experience doing pace maker checks, preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred
  • Certified Cardiograph Technician (CCT) Preferred
  • Certified EKG Technician (CET) Preferred
