Wildlife/Operations/Randolph County Under limited supervision, this employee performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work to provide carpentry support to the (+-) 60 full time employees stationed at the Elkins Operations Center. Carpentry tasks may include, but are not limited to, the construction of customized workstations, book cases, storage bins, and installation of flooring.

The Carpenter will aid staff Biologists in construction/fabrication of various traps, monitoring devices, storage units, customized truck bed storage bins, bird/bat houses, educational displays, etc. Employee may assist other areas (WMAs, Dist. Offices, personnel stations, public access sites) in the construction and/or bid package assistance on carpentry related projects. Maintains the shop and will be responsible for the purchase of shop supplies.

The Carpenter will assist the Building Maintenance Mechanic in the maintenance and repair of the buildings and grounds at the Elkins Operations Center, so that staff have a safe and well- maintained working environment. Performs routine maintenance on the EOC building facilities (minor plumbing, electrical, change filters A/C heating units, buff floors, schedule major repairs to building systems, painting, move office equipment, recycling, etc.). Performs other duties as required. Regular attendance is required.

Training: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent. Substitution: Additional experience as stated below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis. Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience or self-employment in the area of assignment. Substitution: Completion of related training from a vocational school or an approved apprenticeship program may substitute through an established formula on a year-for-year basis.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26,333.00 - $48,716.00 per year
