POSITION DESCIPTION:

As a Concrete Forming Carpenter, you will be building forms for precast concrete structures according to blueprints, specifications and project plans to help us meet our clients' needs. These structures include stairs and landing systems, bridges (deck panels, abutments, etc.), retaining wall panels and other custom structural pieces. You will work on various industrial, commercial, institutional and related projects that supply the construction field. This position is part of our finishing crew which performs all phases of concrete production, placement and finishing.

The schedule is 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday in a climate controlled environment. Overtime may be required at times in order to meet project needs.

• Prepare layout of the project.
• Build forms for precast concrete structures.
• Uses required protective safety equipment and safe practices at all times.
• Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
• Operate hand and power tools as needed.
• Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Check work along the way to ensure it is up to code and specifications.
• Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares to ensure everything is level and secure.
• Erect scaffolding.
• Follow supervisor's work instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of professional carpentry experience is required.
• Experience building forms for precast concrete is preferred.
• Experience in the heavy civil construction industry is preferred.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee and Team Members without proper safety precautions. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis.
