In this role you will:
The CASAC Counselor is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks and activities designed to affect the lasting recovery and rehabilitation of individuals with illness of alcohol and drug abuse. Such activities include group and individual counseling, patient assessment and treatment planning, case management and other assigned responsibilities that deal directly with the reversing of negative behavior characteristics. Counselors are assigned to the treatment component of the multi-disciplinary program and as such, their counseling sessions and other assigned duties in accord with the program’s day-to-day schedule of activities, the programs OASAS-approved work scope, such as daily required units of service delivery and the comprehensive needs of each counselor caseload.

What qualifications you need:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Associate/bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in working in an OASAS setting.
  • Some clinical experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and type quickly; basic computer knowledge.
