The Case Aide will support Waukesha County social workers in their day-to-day tasks and helps to ensure the safety and well being of identified children in Waukesha County by providing supervised visitations and transportation and conducting home visits.
SALARY: $19.00 an hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Formulate, implement, evaluate and review desired behavior changes with family
- Conduct safe visitations with family members
- Intervene, when necessary, to prevent inappropriate behavior or to promote productive interactions between family members
- Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
- Implement, evaluate and review safety assessments and case plans
- Conduct face-to-face contact with families, per program standards, to ensure safety and cooperation with the safety plan and/or case plan
- Provide parent mentoring services
- Assist families in goal setting, planning and home management tasks
- Complete all program documentation per program standards
- Update and report family progress/issues to Waukesha County social workers
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and obey all traffic laws.
- Safely transport clients as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Education and Training:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field
- Position must keep current on information pertaining to client/family needs through seminars, training, media, text and research
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Experience:
- Previous experience working with at-risk youth and families.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, speak and write clearly in English
- Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Waukesha County Health and Human Services
- Must establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with clients, colleagues, Waukesha County employees, the school district, and other community agencies.
- Must maintain client confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to provide culturally, ethnically and gender sensitive services
- Possess understanding of the dynamics of separation
- Ability to follow directions and implement recommendations
- Possess creativity in identifying problems and solutions
- Ability to self-motivate and remain on task
