Volunteer Position:

Community Counseling Center is a non-profit organization serving Mercer County for over 60 years through programs and services that are needed in our community. We are seeking candidates living or working in Mercer County to serve as a Board member. Committed member will support the work of the agency and provide mission-based leadership and governance with daily operations led by the Chief Executive Officer, the Board-CEO relationship is a partnership.

Our Mission To help individuals and families lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Our Vision To be the leading recovery-oriented behavioral health provider by uniting resources to help people become effective contributors to the social, spiritual and economic well-being of our community. We are currently seeking board members with experience to assist in the growth and the continued financial sustainability of the agency.

1.0 INDIVIDUAL MEMBER RESPONSIBLIETES:

1.1 Know the mission, vision, goals, policies, programs, and services of the agency.

1.2 Attend and participate actively and conscientiously in board meetings, committee meetings and executive sessions.

1.3 Contribute to the development of policies and strategic plans.

1.4 Faithfully read and understand the agency’s financial statements and otherwise help the board fulfill its fiduciary responsibility.

1.5 Assist the development committee and staff with fundraising strategies through personal influence.

1.6 Avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest, and disclose any possible conflicts to the board chair in a timely fashion. Never accept or offer favors or gifts from or to anyone who does business with the agency.

1.7 Maintain confidentiality of the board’s meetings and executive sessions.

1.8 Speak on behalf of the agency when authorized to do so by the board.

1.9 Follow the agency’s By-laws, policies and board resolutions.
