Position Summary:
This newly created position will hold responsibility for growing and developing the cell culture and stem cell reagent business across the Benelux, France, Italy and Spain for the Bio-Techne Portfolio.
In this critical specialised sales and business development position you will be expected to maintain an extremely high level of customer engagement and demonstrate strong market knowledge in order to develop strategies in partnership with your line manager and product managers with the purpose of increasing annual revenue aligned to the company’s strategic plan.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for driving increased levels of growth within the stem cell and cell culture business throughout the Benelux, France, Italy and Spain.
- You will build a knowledge base within the defined accounts, building and strengthening your network within a customer organisation aligned with growth plans
- You will use your market and network knowledge to create opportunities, support and direct Account Managers to specific lab groups as well as directly targeting key accounts and key influencers
- You will have a deep understanding of customer goals, focus, budgets, needs, preferences, and their influencers so you can create and execute growth plans that will be effective
- You will require an awareness of customer views on competitor stem cell and cell culture products, using all available information to develop the plan that will drive growth and take market share
- Identification and leadership of related tenders for the region
- Forecast portfolio revenue growth expectation on a monthly and quarterly basis to the Territory Manager and Regional Sales Director
- To represent the company at domestic and international conferences to support your portfolio, create end user awareness, create sales opportunities, and inform the market of our relevance
- Will be responsible for the overall growth strategy within the region and create and manage ‘living’ plans for each defined account to drive the business forward
- Deliver insights and feedback from customers, competitors, market activity and observations through monthly reporting and 1-2-1s with your line manager
- Manage a hopper of opportunity and clearly and articulately demonstrate progress through sales stages aligned to portfolio growth targets
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Higher education (ideally PhD level) in a biological science subject
- Additional experience working in a cell biology focused research lab and have knowledge of similar lab networks and the key players involved
- Some sales experience in a related field would be preferable
- Experience of using and ordering other currently available cell culture products on the market
- Experience of strategic planning and working in a customer focused, matrix structure and target driven environment, although direct sales experience is not essential
- Possess excellent IT skills; including experience of working with databases, Office Outlook, using Excel and Word are essential
- Fluent in English
- Valid driving licence
- Able to be located in Benelux region
