The Cellar Technician I should proficiently perform the following cellar-related tasks as directed by the Cellar Lead.

Job Responsibilities

Understands, follows, and completes work orders to perform the following:

• Receives Bulk Tanker Trucks, including setup and operation of pump to offload, operating juice warming unit, and cleaning and sanitizing all used pumps and hoses.
• Performs Daily Fermentation Rounds, including setup and operation of pump, use of compressed gas cylinders, pulling and delivering samples to Laboratory, and preparing and making additions to Cider.
• Operates pumps and flow meters to receive bulk juice, warm tanks, stir tanks, and perform rackings
• Assist the operation of cellar processing equipment including centrifuge, filters, tank agitators, scissor lift
• Performs equipment CIP protocols including tank cleaning, and hose/pump sanitation
• Performs general cleaning tasks including the pressure washing of cidery floors and tank exteriors
• Understands, handles, and uses pressurized gasses
• Follows Cellar Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adheres to safe cellar practices
• Manages job load and multi-tasks several jobs at once
• Accurately and clearly obtains, records, and conveys production numbers and analytics to management

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a cidery, winery, or brewery environment
• High School Diploma, GED, or three years of work-related experience. Higher Education preferred.
• Forklift Certification and proven ability to safely operate a forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including extended hours and overtime as needed
• Good reading, writing, and mathematical skills
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow directions, as well as listen and communicate with co-workers
• Strong and proven work ethic
• Commitment to excellence in an ever-evolving, exciting field of work
