Responsibilities:

As a Cement Mason I, your primary duties include smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures, using appropriate tools (i.e., hand or power tools, floats, trowels, screeds).

• Spreading concrete to specified depth and workable consistency
• Leveling, smoothing, and shaping surfaces of freshly poured concrete
• Vibrating concrete to ensure consistency throughout
• Patching holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
• Molding expansion joints and edges
• Forming concrete slab on grade
• Installing edge forms
• Curing post pour: spray cure, water sprinkles, blankets, heat/curtain systems
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs
• Strong teamwork orientation
• Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
• Detail orientation
• Knowledge of equipment and their uses

Education and Experience Requirements

• A minimum of one year of related experience
• High school education or GED is preferred
