The Central Authorization Specialist II responsbilities include:
- Verifying health insurance information
- Obtaining authorizations, pre-certifications, and/or referrals for inpatient, observation and scheduled outpatient elective services.
- Assist patients, clinical teams, physicians and their staff, the BayCare Central Business office, and denials management with information and process details for timely turnaround for authorizations
- Utilizes electronic scheduling/registration/financial system, payers websites, and recorded calls to validate health coverage and benefits in processing approval for medical services
- Maintains proper documentation in GE systems
- Works closely with Managed Care and understands health insurances rule sets, manuals, and contract language

Qualifications:
Education
- Required High School or Equivalent
- Or Associate's in Business
- Or Associate's in Health Services
Experience
- 2 years insurance verification / authorization retrievals or referrals
- 1 year health insurance webiste
- Preferred 1 year healthcare business office / or managed care experience
